William G. “Bill” Stevens, age 72, of East Galesburg, Illinois died at 10:05 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2025, at the Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville, Illinois.
He was born on July 27, 1952, in Galesburg, Illinois the son of Gene F. and Betty L. (Wilson) Stevens. He attended and graduated from Galesburg High School. He married Christine Cummings on December 9, 1972, in Galesburg, Illinois.
Surviving is his wife, Christine Stevens of East Galesburg, Illinois; one son Aaron (Brooke) Stevens of Galesburg, Illinois; two grandchildren Logan and Julian Stevens of Galesburg, Illinois; one sister Sue L. Jeebe of Galesburg, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Robert L. Stevens.
He worked for Butler Manufacturing for many years as a painter retiring in 1995. He was also an EMT.
A celebration of life will be held from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Knoxville Bar & Grill (Side Room) at 310 E. Main St. in Knoxville, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Knox County Nursing Home or the MS Society. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with his wishes.
