Annita Kay (Solomon) Herron, 85, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away at 8:55 p.m., Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at Courtyard Estates of Monmouth. She was born June 18, 1940, in Chillicothe, Illinois the daughter of Keith and Vonnie (Mason) Solomon. She was raised and educated in Roseville graduating from Roseville High School in 1958.
Kay married Robert N. “Digger” Herron on August 8, 1959, at the Roseville Baptist Church and he preceded her in death on July 31, 2020.
Those left to cherish her memory are; children, Debora (Russ) Thomson of Charleston SC, Kendall (Lana) Herron of Colchester IL, Bradley W. (Missy) Herron of Colchester Il, Stanley K. (Becky) Herron of Monmouth, Il, Dana Jo (Jeff) Svob of Oquawka, Il; grandchildren, Casey (Tim) Wilcox, Joe (Lindsey) Thomson, Austin, Cole (Kaylee) and Clay (Laci Gronewold) Herron, Stanton (Anna Bowman) and Gauge (Brandy Gregory) Herron, Brad (Symone) Mclaughlin, Brittany (Brandon) Teel, Blake (Olivia) Giddings, Stewart (Emma) Svob. Great-Grandchildren Hunter, Tristan (Terin), Cody, Anabelle, Kenleigh, Andrea, Tylor, Kaylee, Emily, Austyn, Phoebe and Laken; great-great-grandchildren; Miles, Elijah, Wade, Karson; siblings, Judy (Pat) Elting and Leon (Margie) Solomon and one sister-in-law, Sue Tracy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and one brother, Jerry Solomon.
Kay owned the Bo-Kay Floral Shop in Roseville for many years and later worked for the Enchanted Florist in Macomb. Kay enjoyed traveling across the country and Canada with her husband on their Harley. She loved to garden and was a member of the Roseville Garden Club. She enjoyed painting and crafting. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2025, in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 11 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kay Herron Memorial Fund and left in the care of the funeral home. Moore Memorial Home, Roseville, is handling the arrangements.
