Sanitary Sewer Repairs at Knox and Elm Street
Starting Monday, September 15, the Galesburg Sanitary District is scheduled to begin sanitary sewer repair work at the intersection of Knox and Elm Street, weather permitting.
To minimize disruption to local traffic and nearby schools, they plan to have:
- One lane of traffic remain open at all times.
- Two outside lanes open whenever possible.
- Work begin after the school day starts at Lombard Middle School and conclude before school is dismissed each day.
The project is expected to be completed within 2 to 3 days and motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time and exercise caution when driving through the work zone.
The City appreciates the public’s patience and cooperation during these necessary infrastructure improvements. For ongoing updates on road closures and construction projects, please visit the City of Galesburg website.
