The City of Galesburg announces that cleanup week at Linwood and East Linwood Cemeteries will be Sept. 22‑26. During this period, cemetery staff will remove all decorations, flowers, flags, and other items placed on gravesites.
Families and plot owners who wish to preserve any items are urged to pick them up before the cleanup begins. The cleanup ensures safe, respectful maintenance, allows proper mowing and landscaping, and preserves the dignity of these sacred spaces.
