Krispy Krunchy Chicken, dubbed “America’s Best Fried Chicken You’ve Never Heard Of” by Thrillist, is officially open at 900 E. Main St., next to Save More grocery store in Galesburg.
The new fast-food spot, which opened Sept. 9, brings its Cajun-inspired flavors to the community, offering both dine-in and to-go options for local fried chicken enthusiasts.
The restaurant, owned by Jessie Singh, who also co-owns the neighboring Save More, operates from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and extends hours to 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. With seating for 30, the location provides a cozy dine-in experience alongside convenient to-go and call-in order services.
Krispy Krunchy Chicken’s menu features its signature mild Cajun marinade and hand-breaded chicken, prepared in small batches for maximum freshness. Key offerings include jumbo tenders, bone-in chicken, a new Cajun chicken sandwich, and freshly introduced chicken nuggets made with all-white breast meat. Sides like honey biscuits, fries, red beans and rice, mac-n-cheese, and mashed potatoes with gravy round out the meal options.
The chain, known for its “store-within-a-store” model, has grown to nearly 3,000 locations nationwide, with plans to open over 600 more in 2025.
