The City of Galesburg has announced three temporary railroad crossing closures for BNSF Railway projects, weather permitting, to complete surface improvements aimed at enhancing safety and infrastructure reliability, according to a city news release.
The Broad Street and Whitesboro Street crossings will be closed from 10 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8.
The North Academy Street crossing will be closed from 6 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7, to 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9.
Motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians are urged to plan alternate routes during these periods. The city expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and cooperation during the improvements.
