No injuries were reported in a house fire at 63 Sumner St. in Galesburg early Tuesday.
The Galesburg Fire Department responded at 2:30 a.m., deploying all three fire stations with 10 personnel to combat flames on the east exterior of the single-story home. Crews extinguished the fire from outside while searching the interior, confirming no occupants or pets were present. The blaze was contained, preventing spread to nearby homes.
Off-duty firefighters were recalled, and the Knoxville Fire Department provided mutual aid to ensure citywide emergency coverage.
The Galesburg Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
