Bridgeway, a Galesburg-based human services organization serving individuals with mental health, substance use, and disability needs, has named Staci Danner as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective Oct. 1.
Danner, who has dedicated more than 26 years to Bridgeway, most recently served as Chief Financial Officer. Her appointment comes after Bill Nelson’s retirement in late September following 37 years of service, including a decade as CEO.
“Staci’s deep knowledge of the organization, commitment to its mission, and steady leadership uniquely position her to guide Bridgeway into its next chapter,” the organization said in a statement.
Bridgeway, founded in 1954 and headquartered at 2323 Windish Dr., provides a range of services including mental health support, substance use disorder treatment, employment opportunities for people with disabilities, and community housing across west central Illinois. With a mission of “Creating Solutions for Everyone,” it employs over 400 people and serves thousands annually.
The organization expressed gratitude to Nelson for his “vision and care” that “left a lasting mark on Bridgeway and the communities we serve,” and acknowledged other leaders who contributed to its growth.
Danner’s tenure begins as Bridgeway continues expanding services, including recent federal grants for behavioral health enhancements in Galesburg and beyond. For more on Bridgeway’s mission, visit bway.org.
