OSF Holy Family Medical Center has earned a 5-star rating from the National Rural Rating System for fall 2025, marking continued recognition for excellence in rural healthcare delivery.
The NRRS evaluates rural and critical access hospitals using HCAHPS patient satisfaction surveys and clinical quality indicators. Unlike CMS star ratings, which often exclude smaller facilities due to low patient volumes, the NRRS provides a dedicated benchmark for rural providers.
“This recognition is more than just a rating — it’s a reflection of the trust our patients place in us every day,” said Lisa DeKezel, president of OSF Holy Family. “We’re incredibly proud of our team for the care, skill, and heart they bring to every patient interaction. This 5-star designation affirms what we already know — that our community receives outstanding care, close to home.”
Brock Slabach, chief operating officer of the National Rural Health Association, commended the achievement. “This award is a reflection of the unwavering dedication and deep compassion these hospitals bring to rural healthcare,” he said. “In communities where access can be limited and challenges are complex, these teams continue to deliver excellence with heart.”
A cornerstone of the Monmouth community since 1897, OSF Holy Family offers inpatient and emergency care, surgical services, primary care, and more.
