Four elementary schools in the WGIL/FM 95 listening area – ROWVA Elementary School, Williamsfield Elementary School, United North Elementary, and Spoon River Valley Elementary School – have achieved the prestigious Exemplary designation on the 2024-25 Illinois Report Card, released this week by the Illinois State Board of Education .

This elite status places them in the top 10% of schools statewide, with no underperforming student groups, recognizing excellence in academic growth, proficiency, attendance, and equity.

The Illinois Report Card, available at IllinoisReportCard.com, is the state’s official platform for transparent school data. It empowers families, educators, researchers, and policymakers with insights on academic performance, school environment, student demographics, educator qualifications, and principal highlights.

Evaluating over 4,000 public schools through a multi-measure framework, the report highlights post-pandemic recovery, with statewide elementary reading proficiency rising to 41.2% and math improving overall.

A post on the ROWVA School District Facebook page celebrated the honor: “This accomplishment reflects the hard work, dedication, and heart of our amazing students, staff, and families. Together, we’re creating a supportive environment where every student can grow, achieve, and thrive.”

Spoon River Valley noted on its Facebook page it marks the second straight year for Exemplary designation for the elementary school.
