Galesburg Mayor Peter Schwartzman is inviting the community to celebrate recent city successes.
The party is Saturday, Nov. 15, from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Best Western Prairie Inn, 300 S. Soangetaha Road. Admission is $10 at the door and includes dancing, food, games, and more.
Schwartzman emphasizes that this is not a fundraiser and all money collected will go toward the food being handled by the hotel. “Anyone who wants to celebrate with us” is invited.
Attendees can expect a 51-slide presentation of recent accomplishments and upcoming projects, plus table games throughout the evening.
Schwartzman tells WGIL, “With all the disruption going on at the federal level, it is important that we reflect on what we, Galesburgers, have done in the recent past, working together. It is a reminder of the power that we have to control our destiny and to make lives for ourselves and our neighbors better and more fulfilling. Honestly, I see no limit to what we can do in the future to make Galesburg the best City in the world.”
