Two people were life-flighted to Peoria Saturday morning after a two-vehicle crash in the 1300 block of South Lake Storey Road
Galesburg police and firefighters responded at 9:17 a.m. near the entrance of Allison Campground. Both drivers — the only occupants of the vehicles — were trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters extricated one driver.
Both victims were initially taken by ambulance to OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg before being airlifted to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria with serious injuries.
The names of the drivers are not being released at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by the Galesburg Police Department with assistance from the Illinois State Police.
