Dale E. Morling, 96, of Galesburg, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 29, 2025.
He was born September 29, 1929, in Galesburg, the son of Frank “Wallace” and Anna “Amelia” (Applequist) Morling. He married Clara “Lucille” Malcolm on January 16, 1955, in Galesburg. They enjoyed nearly 66 years of marriage before Lucille passed in 2020.
He is survived by three children, Valerie (Alan) Edwards of Cameron, Paula (Steven) Rassi of Morton, and Keith (Tracy) Morling of Galesburg; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (James) McGuire, Aaron (Sarah) Edwards, Amanda (Eric) Linder, Blake (Jezreel) Edwards, Ryan (Leane) Rassi, Seth (Chelsey) Morling, Calihan (Jessica) Morling, and Thaddeus Morling; a step granddaughter, Laura Stanesa; eleven great grandchildren, Jacob Edwards, Avery Edwards, Brayden McGuire, Brody McGuire, Skyler McGuire, Maddie Linder, Clara Linder, Ethan Linder, Enzo Edwards, Kennedi Rassi, and Henry Morling; four step great grandchildren, Christopher Stanesa, Andrew Stanesa, Benjamin Stanesa, and Katherine Stanesa; and three step great-great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Roy Morling.
Dale was a lifelong farmer in Warren County. He started farming with his father and father-in-law and continued to build the family farm. He was a member of Coldbrook Christian Church, where he held many offices through years including, Trustee, Elder, Deacon, Chairman of the Board, and serving on the House and Grounds Committee.
Dale and Lucille enjoyed traveling with friends. They also enjoyed attending sporting events for their grandchildren. Dale enjoyed writing poetry and woodworking, making frames for his puzzles.

Visitation will be 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2025, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services. Funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. Michael Schmidt officiating. Private family burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery on Monday, December 8, 2025. Memorial contributions may be made to Coldbrook Christian Church or Mayo Clinic.
