Roger Dean Parr

Roger Dean Parr, 80, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 3:12 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Loft Nursing Home in Peoria, Illinois.

He was born January 21, 1945, in Galesburg to Wilbur “Webb” Argast and Lillian Ione McNeil. Roger wed three times, proving he never did anything halfway, including love and commitment.

Roger is survived by two sons, Todd Parr of Galesburg and Justen (Amanda Bueno) Parr of Tulsa, Oklahoma; his daughter, Dawn (Mike) Conrad of Abingdon; his brother, David (Terri) Parr of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; his sister, Karen (Tony) Frank of Knoxville; two lifelong friends, Dave Cooley and Mike Bair; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Roger graduated from Galesburg High School in 1963. He later worked for OMC Gale Products in Galesburg and then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where he worked in sales and as a warehouse manager for Snow’s Furniture. He retired officially after 25 years but always kept working. He was a member of St. Patrick’s Church in Galesburg. Roger enjoyed watching college sports, golf, cars, listening to any genre of rock music, talking politics, and having a “spirited” debate. Known as the Candy Man, Roger had love for sweets, especially chocolate.

As Roger requested, his body will be donated to science. No services are scheduled at this time. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association or the Hairy Cell Leukemia Foundation.
