A Galesburg woman has been arrested in connection with a November crash on South Lake Storey Road that claimed the life of a 72-year-old local resident and lifelong nurse.

Ashley England, 32, of Galesburg, was arrested Dec. 23 by Illinois State Police in Peoria on a Knox County warrant charging her with aggravated DUI, reckless homicide, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of controlled substances.

The charges stem from a two-vehicle crash at 9:17 a.m. Nov. 22 in the 1300 block of South Lake Storey Road.

Police said both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles. One driver was extricated by Galesburg firefighters. Both were taken to OSF St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg and later life-flighted to OSF St. Francis in Peoria with severe injuries.

Marte Glass, 72, of Galesburg, died Nov. 30 from injuries sustained in the crash.

England is being held at the Knox County Jail.

The investigation by Galesburg police is ongoing.
