Noel Eric Gash, known affectionately as Eric, 63, of Galesburg died peacefully Monday, Jan. 6, 2026, in Galesburg.
Eric was born Dec. 29, 1962, in Galesburg to Tony I. and Marilynn L. (Harvey) Gash.
Eric is survived by his siblings, Karen (Thomas) Beacham of Douglasville, Georgia, Antonya Gash of San Antonio, Texas, Yul Brian (Susie) Gash of Austell, Georgia, and Ty (Sadel) Gash of Galesburg; nieces and nephews, Felecia Beacham, Kevin Beacham, Tiffany (Leon) Moore, Jennifer (Tehrae) Heflin, Brandon (Tania) Gash, Stephanie (Kenya) Harris, Kameil Gash, Ashley (Joseph Hall) Gash, Montgomery Gash and Isabella Gash. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Guy Gash.
Eric worked at Aldi’s Grocery Store, the City of Galesburg Central Garage, and in housekeeping at Cottage Hospital until its closure.
He was a devoted member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where his voice graced the choir. Eric loved jazz music, playing the trumpet and collecting recordings. Photography was another joy, capturing life’s moments through his lens.
A sports enthusiast, Eric was a loyal fan of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.
