A Galesburg woman has pleaded not guilty to aggravated DUI, reckless homicide and drug possession in connection with a fatal crash on South Lake Storey Road last November.

Ashley N. England, 32, appeared in Knox County court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. She is charged in the Nov. 22 collision that seriously injured her and caused fatal injuries to 72-year-old Marte Glass of Galesburg.

Preliminary tests of England’s blood and urine showed methamphetamine and cannabis in her system. Authorities also found syringes and suspected drugs in her vehicle.

England was on pretrial release for a separate drug possession charge at the time of the crash.

A pretrial conference in the case is set for March 2 at 2 p.m.

Glass, a lifelong nurse and U.S. Army veteran, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to previous reports.
