Farmington Police cited two juveniles following a fight at Farmington Central High School and an off-campus threat made on Snapchat that included a photo of a gun.
School administration contacted police at 7:24 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, after breaking up a physical fight between two juveniles. Both were removed from the school by administration. While off campus, one juvenile made a threat to the other on Snapchat, sending a photo of a gun along with the threat.
Authorities later determined the gun was an airsoft pistol that resembled a Glock. No threat existed to the school, and no lockdown was ordered because the incident occurred off campus. As a precaution, a Farmington officer remained on scene until the juvenile who made the threat was taken into custody.
Officers, along with Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies, located the juvenile at his residence. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Farmington Police Department. The juvenile was released to his parents pending a Fulton County Juvenile Intake for aggravated assault.
A second juvenile was brought to the department by his parents and given a Peoria County Juvenile Intake for aggravated battery related to the fight at the school.
