Clara M. Logsdon, 88, of Abingdon, Ill., passed away at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Clara was born on November 24, 1937 in Pekin, Ill., the daughter of Ralph Alvin and Viola Millie (Dean) Thomason. She married Lyle Logsdon on December 31, 1955, he preceded her in death in March of 2010. She later married Arthur “Art” Burch on March 10, 1973. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2012. She wed Ora W. Logsdon on September 21, 2012 in Abingdon, Ill.
She is survived by her husband, Ora W. Logsdon, of Abingdon, four sons, Murl (and Marilyn) Smith of Manito, Ill., Rick (and Colleen) Logsdon of Missouri, Josh (and Lacy) Logsdon of Indiana, and Jesse (and Kate) Logsdon of Indiana, six daughters, Debra “Deb” (and Rick) Jackson of Wyoming, Ill., Sandi Norris of Abingdon, Ill., Shawna (and Alan) Creasey of Georgia, Cari Snodgrass of Illinois, Marti (Tony) Vandeveter of Indiana, and Jami (Randy) Martin of Indiana, one brother, Jackie Dean (Mary) Thomason of Florida, a daughters-in-law Judy Logsdon of Georgia and Lisa Logsdon of Indiana and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Viola and Clarence Pfieffer and father, Ralph Thomason, two sons, Randy Logsdon and Dave Logsdon, a brother, Donald Eugene and his wife Shirley Buss, and a sister, Laura “Alice” and her husband Delbert Biswell.
Clara resided in many areas before settling in Abingdon, Ill. She attended Pekin area schools and later earned her GED. She attended college and earned a certificate in Cosmetology and later a certificate in Sterile Processing. She sterilized surgical instruments for 30 years at Pekin Hospital before retiring on August 29, 2002. Clara was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Manito, Ill. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting and knitting in her free time. She also was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family.
