Sherri Leann (Cantwell) Poulson, 59, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 9:08 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at her home in Galesburg.
She was born on November 18, 1966, in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Marion and Ivel (Brazee) Cantwell. She attended ROVA High School and graduated from Galesburg High School in 1984. She also attended Polk State College. She married her lifelong sweetheart John Poulson on July 8, 2023, in Galesburg.
Surviving is her husband, John Poulson of Galesburg; children: Destina Smith of Galesburg and Brett Cantwell of Seattle, Washington; step-sons: Corey Poulson of Monmouth, Illinois, and Bryan Iaun of Las Vegas, Nevada; five grandchildren: Kaliyaha, Ashton, Cashelle, Malcolm, and Ella; sisters: Michelle (Kevin) Morell of Jacksonville, Florida, and Amanda Cantwell of Wichita, Kansas; Michelle Cottom of Abingdon, Illinois; mother, Ivel Cantwell of Florida. She was preceded in death by her father Marion, son Johnny, and brother Bill.
She enjoyed her work with Hospice, then last working for Corteva in Woodhull, Illinois. She loved to be outside, doing yardwork, and crafting. Being with family and friends. She liked the phrase “Meet me where the sky touches the sea.”
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, January 31, 2026, with funeral services beginning at noon at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes & Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois.
