Knox College’s 45th annual International Fair will bring dozens of global cultures to Galesburg on Saturday, Jan 31, with a focus this year on sports traditions from around the world.

The International Fair is one of Knox’s most beloved traditions, bringing together people from around the globe to celebrate cultures, customs and traditions. This year’s theme is Sports from Around the World.

The day begins with a Booth Fair from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the lobby of the Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Students and campus organizations will share how different countries engage with sports, including cricket in South Asia, soccer in Latin America and handball in Europe. The booth fair highlights how sports have long served as a unifying force across borders.

From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the Flag Parade will take place in Kresge Recital Hall at the Ford Center for the Fine Arts. Students representing 57 countries will carry their national flags in a procession.

Also from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Kresge Recital Hall, the Cultural Showcase will feature student performances of traditional dance, music and other pieces representing their home countries.

All events are free and open to the public.
