Yvonne Boggan, 72, of Galesburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, January 24, 2026, in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born April 29, 1953, in St. Louis, the daughter of Deborah Hardges and Robert McKnight. She married Eugene Boggan in July 1976.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Eugene; children, Tyrone Hardges of Davenport, Iowa, Yvette (Marco) Garcia of Galesburg, and La-Tashia Boggan of Galesburg; grandchildren, Jearrica, Trinity, Amaunie, Ammeir, Kaiell, Trustin, Treyson, Tomas, Layla, Jersy, and Brooklyn; great grandchildren, Pyran, Darius, Jaiona, J’Rius, Tobias, Madilynn, Ezekiel, Ezra, Neteyam, and Joseph; sisters, Darlene DeLaCruz of Galesburg, Marie Johnson of Portland, Oregon, Sheri Wade of Galesburg, and Rene Hardges of Galesburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother who raised her, Mary J. Randall; daughters, Yolanda Boggan and La-Tonya Rogers; and brother, Jerry Bolton.
Yvonne worked for many years as a C.N.A. at several local nursing homes. She was a Christian woman who was a founding member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. She enjoyed attending church and reading the Bible.
Yvonne enjoyed baking and cooking, making flower arrangements, fishing, and spending time with her family sharing old memories. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and she enjoyed spending time with them and attending their events.
Visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2026, at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral and Cremation Services of Galesburg. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kimberly Bonds officiating. Burial will be in East Linwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Yvonne’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
