Michael Christopher Adams

Michael Christopher Adams, 44, passed away on January 27, 2026, after a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer.

Michael was born in Galesburg, Illinois, on January 27, 1982, to Sandra and Michael Adams. He spent many of his younger years in the pool and went on to attend Western Illinois University, where he was a proud member of the Leathernecks’ Swimming and Diving team. After graduating, he dedicated his time to coaching the sport he loved and to working in Emergency Medical Services with Advanced Medical Transport. Michael moved to Wisconsin in 2017 and began working with Ryan Brothers Ambulance, where he devoted the rest of his career to serving others.

Michael married Courtney (Tyson) Adams on August 12, 2017, and together they created a life filled with love, including their two children, Delaney and Tyson. Michael’s proudest title was “Dad”; his children meant the world to him. His favorite place to be was with his family. Michael always encouraged his children to find joy and to be the truest versions of themselves.

Michael also enjoyed being outdoors and at the lake, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Dallas Cowboys, and participating in and attending Corvette shows. Michael was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, Wisconsin; his faith and hope were integral to the way he approached life. Michael had an immeasurable impact on everyone he spent time with, and he brought out the best in others. His smile exuded warmth. Michael led by example and was the epitome of selflessness, strength, integrity, and kindness.

Michael is survived by his wife, Courtney, and their two children, Delaney and Tyson; his father, Michael Adams; and many other beloved family members and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Sandra Adams, and his grandparents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Evansville, Wisconsin, on Sunday, February 8, from noon to 4 p.m., with a memorial at 1 p.m. Ward-Hurtley Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions to a fund for Michael’s children are welcome.

Michael’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to all of the people who provided Michael with care and support.
