The Galesburg Fire Department extinguished a kitchen fire Tuesday afternoon at a home in the 1800 block of Grand Avenue.
Crews from all three stations responded to the one-story wood-frame residence at 1833 Grand Ave. at approximately 3:55 p.m. on Feb. 3. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from the house. An initial hose line was advanced and the fire was quickly extinguished.
No occupants or pets were found inside the residence, and no injuries were reported.
Fire investigators determined the fire to be unintentional.
The American Red Cross responded to assist the displaced resident.
