Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Marjorie Floyd

Jacqueline “Jackie” Marjorie Floyd, 79, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 2:10 a.m. Thursday, January 29, 2026, at Marigold Health Care and Rehab, Galesburg, Illinois.

She was born April 8, 1946, in England, the daughter of Jack Dean and Marjorie (Brown) Leucht. She graduated from Manual High School in Peoria in 1964 and went on to graduate from Stevens Cosmetology School. After completing school, Jackie worked several years in cosmetology before transitioning to international reservations for American Airlines and eventually retired from Delta Airlines.

Jackie married Lyle Smith and had two children. She later married James Floyd in 1995 in Dallas, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2009. Jackie is survived by her children, Kurtis (Rosemary) Smith of Gold Hill, Colorado, and Sheila (Scott Cruikshank) Smith of Bartonville, Illinois; five grandchildren, Quinton Schupp, Ethan Schupp, Gavin Smith, Sophia Smith, and Brooklyn Cruikshank; and one sister, Kay Foote of Peoria. Along with her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by one nephew, Shawn Foote.

Jackie was a faithful Chicago Cubs fan, enjoying both watching and listening to the games. She was a longtime faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church, Peoria. Jackie had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed travelling.

Cremation has been accorded. Jackie’s family will host a memorial service at 11 a.m. Monday, February 16, 2026, at Christ Lutheran Church, 2020 W. Malone St., Peoria, Illinois. A luncheon will follow at the church. Private burial will be at a later date at Swan Lake Memory Gardens, Peoria, Illinois.
