Mr. Charles Harwill Huntley, 73, of Galesburg, Illinois, died at 9:13 p.m. Thursday, February 5, 2026, at the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City, Iowa.

He was born July 26, 1952, in Davis Junction, Illinois, the son of Clayton and Doris (Hiese) Huntley.

Surviving are his daughter, Shalene Huntley (and Cory Weaver) of Davenport, Iowa; two brothers, Edward Huntley (and Darlene) of Florida and Pat McDonough of Illinois; a sister, Laurie Cotton of Texas; five grandsons; Marshal McKee, Blake Huntley, Kiser Huntley, Joseph Huntley, and Wayne Huntley; and two great-granddaughters, Lilliana and Amelia McKee. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Tom “Sal” McDonough, Robert “Bobby” McDonough, Ron McDonough; and sisters, Sally “Sal” Peterson, Evelyn “Sue” Bartlet, and Betty Pearson.

Charles graduated from North Boone High School in Poplar Grove, Illinois, in 1969. He was proud to serve his country for four years in the United States Air Force. He worked as a carpenter in the Galesburg area for several years as well as Maytag.

He enjoyed playing billiards and was a member of several area leagues. For fun, he liked to sing karaoke.

As Charles requested, cremation will be accorded. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Service, Galesburg Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be shared at www.h-p-w.com.
