IDOT

Drivers on U.S. 67 in Warren County near Monmouth should prepare for a nearly two-year construction project starting next week.

The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that work begins Tuesday, Feb. 17 on the corridor from south of 270th Street to about one mile north of the U.S. 34 intersection at Monmouth.

The project includes resurfacing the roadway, widening shoulders, replacing guardrails and culverts, and adding turn lanes.

Intermittent daytime lane closures are planned, with traffic controlled by flaggers. Culvert replacement sections will use temporary traffic signals.

Completion is expected in November 2027.

Motorists should allow extra time for travel, consider alternate routes when possible, watch for changed conditions and signs, obey posted speed limits, avoid mobile device use in work zones, and stay alert for workers and equipment.
