Gordon K. Young

Gordon K. Young, 88, of Roseville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, in his home. He was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Macomb, Illinois, the son of Verle and Neva (Buchen) Young. He was raised and educated in Ellisville, Illinois, and graduated from Valley High School in 1955. He later attended Monmouth College and graduated with a degree in Business Accounting in 1961. He then attended Indiana University to pursue an MBA.

He joined the United States Army where he served as a quartermaster.

He married Jane Corman on July 25, 1981, and she survives.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane; sons, Don (Linda) Farr of Roseville, Curt (Christine) Farr of Macomb, and Chuck Farr of Roseville; one sister, Karen (Jim) Young-Parker of Peoria, Arizona; grandchildren, Sarah (Aaron) Edwards, Andrea (Mike) Cokel, Rachel Farr, Chloe Farr, and Adam Farr; and five great-grandchildren.

Gordon worked for John Deere in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Madrid, Spain, for a few years. He then worked for Monmouth College as the financial aid director and as registrar. He worked for the National Bank of Monmouth from 1984 until his retirement in 2009, as a farm loan officer and later as the internal auditor.

He was a member of the Roseville Christian Church for many years where he served as a deacon, an elder, and chair of the finance committee. He was also a member of the Rotary Club. He loved all things John Deere and collected antique tractors and other memorabilia.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 23, 2026, at the Roseville Christian Church. Friends may call at the church beginning at 9:30 a.m. A time of visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Roseville Christian Church or the Roseville Community Center. Interment will be in the Roseville Memorial Park Cemetery.
