Minnie Pearl Jones
Nov. 20, 1968 – Feb. 19, 2026 (age 57)
Minnie was truly one of a kind—a bright spirit with a personality all her own. She had a quiet but unmistakable way of reminding everyone around her that she was in charge. Just when you thought you had her figured out, she would flash that spark in her eyes and keep you guessing. She kept staff on their toes and made every day a little more interesting. There was something about Minnie that simply couldn’t be ignored—she filled a room not with noise, but with presence. And once you knew her, you never forgot her.
Minnie spent many meaningful years at St. Mary’s Square before later making her home at Clark Court. While each chapter of her life mattered, it was at Clark Court where she truly found her community. There, she was surrounded by familiar faces, steady routines, and peers who shared in her days. It wasn’t just a place to live—it was her home. Within those walls were friendships, shared laughter, daily rituals, and a team who understood her unique ways and loved her for exactly who she was.
She also attended Thrive Day Training, which became an important and valued part of her routine. At Thrive, Minnie remained active and engaged, enjoying structure, social connection, and opportunities to participate in her own way. The consistency and care she received there supported her independence and gave her meaningful experiences beyond her home.
What made Minnie so special was her resilience and her unmistakable personality. She faced life in her own way and on her own terms. She taught those around her lessons that cannot be learned from books—patience, flexibility, creativity, and the beauty of celebrating even the smallest victories. She reminded us that caregiving is not simply about tasks; it is about relationship. It is about knowing someone deeply, honoring their preferences, respecting their dignity, and loving them through every season.
We extend our deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Clark Court. Their compassion, dedication, and genuine love allowed Minnie to live a life filled with dignity, stability, and joy. They showed up for her every single day—through smiles and stubborn moments, through calm days and challenging ones. They advocated fiercely for her, comforted her tenderly, and ensured she always felt safe, valued, and understood. That kind of care leaves a lasting mark not only on the person receiving it, but on the family who witnesses it.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing Minnie lived a life surrounded by familiarity, routine, companionship, laughter, and love. She kept us humble. She kept us attentive. She kept us connected. And in her own unforgettable way, she made all of us better. Minnie will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
Cremation will be accorded. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Galesburg Chapel are honored to assist with Minnie’s arrangements. Online condolences may be offered at www.h-p-w.com.
