One person dead, firefighter injured in Galesburg house fire
Galesburg firefighters encountered heavy smoke, flames, and a partial collapse while attempting to rescue victims from a two-story residence at 828 E. Berrien St. Saturday morning. One victim was pronounced dead, and a firefighter was treated and released at the scene.
