Aaron Dean Tessier

Aaron Dean Tessier, 62, of Galesburg, Illinois passed away at 1:11 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois.

Aaron was born November 11, 1963, the son of Earl Dean and Alice Ann (Churchill) Tessier in Galesburg.

He grew up in Gilson, Illinois, a graduate of Knoxville High School in 1982. He proudly served 8 years in the Army National Guard, having spent time in Honduras.

Aaron went on to work for Bucky Poynor’s Carpentry. Though the majority of his life was spent being “The Glass Man” while working for both Weather Wise Windows and Vinyl Storm Systems, and later co-owning Knox Glass. After leaving the window business, he worked at HyVee and Dick Blick in Galesburg.

Aaron enjoyed playing guitar, mushrooming, camping, playing cards, watching the history channel and cooking, especially his famous meatloaf. Most of all, he loved spending time with Stacy and being Papa to his grandchildren.

Even during Aaron’s health struggles, he never lost his sense of humor or missed the opportunity for a quick witted comeback.

Aaron is survived by his fiancée of 27 years, Stacy Schafer of Galesburg; one daughter, Brooke (Mitchell) Beals of LaHarpe, Illinois; two grandchildren: Holten and Hudsyn Beals; one brother, Max Kent Tessier of Galesburg; one sister: Shelley (Don) Ryner of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; his step-mother: Mona Tessier of Galesburg; three step-siblings: Mike Wilmot of Sandwich, Illinois, Matt (Dorothy) Wilmot of Rio, Illinois and Marcie Rud of Galesburg; nieces and nephews: TJ (Sarah) Tessier, Tim Ryner, Kristi Kern and Amanda Tessier and his best friend: Randy (Cathie) Brush.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Keith Tessier; two nephews: Jarrod Tessier and Bryan Ryner and one step-brother: Mark Wilmot.

Cremation has been entrusted to Banks & Beals Funeral Home.

Military Rites will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Abingdon American Legion, 546 IL-41, Abingdon, Illinois, followed by a Celebration of Aaron’s Life until 4 p.m.
