Jane Ann Davis, 94, of London Mills, Illinois, died Monday, March 9, 2026.

Jane was born July 11, 1931, in rural Fulton County to George Shover and Gladys (Williamson) Shover. She graduated as salutatorian of the first graduating class of Spoon River Valley High School in 1949.

She married Stanley Davis on June 1, 1949, in the London Mills United Methodist Church.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Robert (Brenda) Davis and Kenneth (Debra) Davis, seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Stanley Davis, a brother George Beverly, her sister June Overdorf, and brother Robert Shover.

Jane was a loving farm wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and “G-Ma.” She worked 20 years for the Spoon River Valley Schools. Jane taught Sunday school and VBS at the London Mills United Methodist Church, where she also played piano, sang solos and for funerals, and sang in the choir. She accompanied many students on piano in school instrumental contests as well.

Jane enjoyed having a large vegetable garden, a big strawberry patch, and growing roses. She liked helping on the farm, riding in horse-drawn wagons on the farm and in parades. She loved her cats and all farm animals. Jane was faithful to visit shut-ins and friends in nursing homes. She loved baking — especially making her famous Angel Food Cakes for everyone she knew. Above all else, Jane loved Jesus and shared about Jesus with everyone she knew.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the London Mills United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
