Workforce Investment Week
Monday, August 28, 2017 - Friday, September 1, 2017
The week of August 28, 2017 is “Workforce Development Week.” To mark this event, the Workforce Innovation Board of Western Illinois would like to remind everyone that having an updated and professionally crafted resume is important.
Activities in Knox County include:
Monday 8/28 (Goodwill – 1931 Grand Ave, Galesburg) Will offer an Internet and Email class from 10:00 – 12:30 and individual resume development, Illinois JobLink Registration and job search and application assistance from 1:00 – 3:00 PM.
Tuesday 8/29 (Knox County Workforce Office – 311 E. Main Street, Suite 612, Galesburg) Will offer resume assistance & mock Interviews between 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Standard services for Unemployment Insurance filing & JobLink registration will be available as well.
Tuesday 8/29 (Carl Sandburg College – 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd., Galesburg) College Representatives will offer an “Interview Bootcamp”, which will cover interview prep, proper dress, body language and more & the recruiting staff will cover program offering – 530-7pm Building B, Student Center, Carl Sandburg College
Wednesday 8/30 Veterans / Senior Fair (Sponsored by Representative Swanson – Galesburg American Legion Post 0571 E. North Street, Galesburg) 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Workforce office will participate with a staff member on-hand and program information / handouts.
Friday 9/1 (Carl Sandburg College – 2400 Tom L. Wilson Blvd., Galesburg) College representatives will offer an “Interview Bootcamp”, which will cover interview prep, proper dress, body language and more & the recruiting staff will cover program offering – * New time & Location – 1:00 – 2:30 PM Building C, Room 102, Carl Sandburg College.
