Here is a recap of tonight’s game from WGIL’s Brad Bennewitz:

“Story of the night for the Galesburg Boys Basketball team with their win at Moline, clinch a share of the Streaks first Western Big 6 Conference title since 1998, in a 67-48 victory that the Streaks lead from start to finish. Galesburg has now won 19 straight, that is the 3rd longest winning streak in boys basketball school history, as Galesburg goes to 27-1 and 8-0 in the Western Big 6. Jarret Olson got things started off in a big way, 14 of his 21 points in the 1st quarter when he knocked down all five of his shots, including 4/4 from 3-point range. Ethan Meeker picked up the pace in the 2nd quarter with 8 of his, 2nd game high, 19. Olson lead the way with 6 rebounds.

Andy McLaughlin was dominant on the inside for Moline leading the Maroons with 28. But it wasn’t enough as the Streaks lead by as many as 25 and won it by 19. Galesburg has a rare Saturday night off, they’ll be at Quincy next Friday night by virtue of the Blue Devils 11 point win at United Township. The Blue Devils are still in a race for at least a share in the Conference title. Silver Streaks can win down there next week and win it outright.”

Jarret Olson was our Dave’s Autobody Crunch Time Player of the Game tonight. The Streaks will be back in action next Friday at Quincy with a pre-game time of 7:06 and tip off set for 7:30. You can catch the action live on 93.7FM and 1400AM WGIL, WGIL.com or on TuneIn.
