A Galesburg man was allegedly held at gunpoint last night near the corner of Allens Ave. and Main St.
According to a police report, officers arrived in the 700 block of Mulberry St. around 8:20 p.m. yesterday.
The man said he was in the zero block of Allens Ave. when a passenger in a white PT Cruiser pointed a pistol at him and told him to drop items like his wallet and a vapor smoking device. However, the report does not claim any items were actually taken.
Another car quickly approached and the PT Cruiser left the scene and the man ran toward Mulberry St.
Police stopped a nearby car that matched the man’s description, but it was found to not be the suspect vehicle. An additional check of the area did yield results.
Police say they do not currently have any suspects in the case. An investigation is on going.
