OSF Saint Mary Medical Center is dedicating its new $12 million dollar Galesburg clinic tomorrow.

The Catholic hospital is also going to break ground on a new center for surgery, laboratory and outpatient services at about the same time.

Mark Meeker, OSF’s regional medical director, says the rehabilitated clinic can handle more patients because they added more exam rooms.

Construction started in mid-2015.

“It looks like a brand new building,” Meeker says. “It’s been updated and brought up to date in regard to safety codes, etc. We have all new exam rooms, new offices, a new waiting area. The entire building has been renovated.”

Meeker says they will now start their next round of renovations.

“The operating rooms haven’t been updated since the 1970’s, probably,” Meeker says. “We are going to be bringing those up to date. They’ll be bigger with more amendable operating rooms for our surgical teams and the newer equipment that we have these days.”

The ceremony is set for 4:30 p.m. at the OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center Cafeteria.
