On the Galesburg City Council agenda tonight, Alderman will discuss combining two city departments.
Council documents say a proposal to create the Department of Planning and Public Works, out of the previously individual planning and public works departments, would be revising the city code to reflect how the organizational structure is set up now.

Alderman also have a resolution on first reading that would authorize selling a property at 274 S. Academy St. to Knox College for $660.

Knox has already approved the transaction on their end.

They have indicated before that they will turn the lot into a green space.

A new street sweeper could be purchased as well.

City administration is recommending purchasing a 2017 Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper for $189,000 from Key Equipment & Supply Co.

The deal includes trading in two street sweepers, cutting down on the number of sweepers in the fleet, but still more productivity is expected.
