Phillip W. Harding

Phillip Wayne Harding, 80 of Abingdon, passed away at 11:11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2017 at his home.

He was born July 6, 1936 in Galesburg, the son of Aaron C. and Louise Thoureen Harding.  He married Delores Carlson.  He later married Pat Goss and then Carolyn Carter.

Phil is survived by his children, Brenda Lawrence, Deborah (Paul) Johnson, Everett Harding, Stan (Kathy) Harding all of Abingdon and Vickie Williams; 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.  He is also survived by three brothers, Richard Harding of Galesburg, Kenny (Chris) Harding of Galesburg and Robert Harding in South Carolina; two sisters, Sharon Skeen of East Galesburg and Shirley Cedello of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Ronald Harding and John Harding.

He was a lifelong resident of the Galesburg and Abingdon areas.  He was a carpenter and enjoyed woodworking.  He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan.

As he requested, cremation will be accorded.  To celebrate his life, family and friends will gather from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Harley’s Pub, 2243 Grand Avenue in Galesburg.  Hinchliff-Pearson-West Abingdon Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
