CHICAGO (AP) — The chance of high, life-threatening waves has officials warning people in the Chicago area to stay out of Lake Michigan.
A Beach Hazards Statement was issued early Monday morning for area beaches by the National Weather Service.
According to the waves are expected to be as high as seven feet and there will be a strong rip currant.
Weather conditions are expected to be a lot more pleasant on Monday than they were over the hot and humid weekend. The weather service says that temperatures will only reach into the 70s on Monday. Wind gusts up to 25 mph are expected.
