Lois H. Pratt, age 94, of Galesburg, Illinois died at 8:43 P.M. on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at her home in Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born on August 1, 1923 in New Windsor, Illinois the daughter of Wesley and Verla Wollum Carlson. She attended Walnut Grove Township School in Altona, Illinois. She married Virgil D. Pratt on June 26, 1946 in Altona, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 3, 1997.
Surviving is a daughter: Tammy (Gregg) Burkhart of Arvada, Colorado; a grandson: Tyler Burkhart of Arvada, Colorado; a sister: Lola (Wayne) Mohr of Galesburg, Illinois; a brother-in-law: Dean Yelm of Princeton, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews, especially Melisa Eagle, Lisa Bohannan, Rachel Bohannan and Jeremy Eagle; a special friend and caregiver: Lucinda Thompson of Galesburg, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a son: Russell, and five sisters: Genny Yelm, Donna O’Hern, Rose Lockwood, Joyce Krans, and Joann Bunn.
She was a home maker and wife. She worked at Gales Products during the war. She was a member of the United Church of Altona, Illinois and Royal Neighbors of America. She loved getting together with her family and friends.
Graveside Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 22, 2017 at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Altona, Illinois with Rev. Rodney Miller officiating. In-lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity of choice in her name. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois is assisting the family.
