Karen Sue Bent, age 68, of rural Gilson, Illinois died at 8:25 A.M. on Thursday, Novevmber 16, 2017 at her home in rural Gilson, Illinois.Karen was born on October 18, 1949 in Galesburg, Illinois the daughter of Wayne and Ilene Everett Cowman. The attended and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1967. She married Ted W. Bent on June 10, 1971 in Maquon, Illinois.
Surviving is her husband, Ted W. Bent of Gilson, Illinois; one son, Jason (Becky Ernst) Bent of Knoxville, Illinois; one grandson: Wade Bent of Knoxville, Illinois; two sisters: Trisha Washabaugh of Galesburg, Illinois, Madelyn (Rich) Thurman of Missouri, and John (Melanie) Cowman of Maquon, Illinois. She is preceded in death by her parents.
She worked as a Commerical loan officer for First Midwest Bank in Knoxville and Galesburg for 40 years. She enjoyed being outside, working and mowing her yard.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00P.M. at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Homes and Crematory in Knoxville, Illinois with Rev. Krey Leesman officiating. Interment will be at the Maquon Cemetery in Maquon, Illinois. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Charity of the Donor’s Choice.
