Bryan M. Stuart, 58, of Monmouth, IL. passed away at 11:08 pm, Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg.
Bryan was born April 14, 1960 in Monmouth, Illinois, the son of Bruce L. and Elizabeth J. “Betty” (Pape) Stuart. He was raised in Kirkwood, Illinois, and attended Yorkwood Schools, graduating from Yorkwood High School in 1978.
Bryan married Tonya Stokes in Monmouth on July 1, 2005.
Bryan was a self-employed carpenter, building many Casey’s General Stores throughout the Midwest for 30 years. He enjoyed bowling and playing slow pitch softball and baseball, fishing, and playing darts. Bryan was an avid Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Survivors include Bryan’s wife Tonya Stuart of Monmouth, IL; six children, Adam (Veronica) Stuart of Monmouth, Alex Stuart of Monmouth, Brittany (Adam) Weishaar of Ipava, IL, Elizabeth (David) Houston of Killeen, Texas, Blake Stuart of Monmouth, and Taylor Stuart of Monmouth; five granddaughters with the family expecting a sixth granddaughter in May 2019; his parents, Bruce Stuart of Kirkwood, IL and Betty Stuart of Cambridge, IL; 7 siblings, Diana (Mike) Scott of Virginia, Jim Stuart of Indiana, Julie Stuart-Jones of Monmouth, Jeff (Terri) Stuart of Cambridge, IL, Stephanie Jones of Virginia, and Sean Jones of Virginia, also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Bryan was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place from 2:00-5:00 pm, Sunday, January 13, 2019 at McGuire and Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth. Cremation has been accorded.
