It was announced Monday, May 4th that Railroad Days 2020 has officially been canceled. The announcement was made in a news release. Originally planned for June 25th through June 28th, this year would have marked the 43rd annual event. Chairman Dennis Clark says in the news release Railroad Days had been held for 42 years straight without a cancellation. Each year the event is held all over Galesburg including the model train showcase at Knox College, kids games and activities downtown, with carnival held on the public square, arts and crafts at Standish Park, and more features at the Galesburg Railroad Museum. WGIL will have more information from Railroad Days board members on moving forward with the event next year in 2021.
