Lambert, Gerald D. “Jerry”

Gerald D. “Jerry” Lambert, 87 of Galesburg, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at the Marigold Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Galesburg. He was born June 5, 1933 in Galesburg, the son of Earl F. and Wilma L. (Swise) Lambert.   He married E. Joan Stitt in Thayer, Kansas. He later married Shirley June Eberhart in Cameron, Missouri. Jerry is survived by one daughter, Ruth Ann Lambert of North Charleston, South Carolina; one son, Robert Alan Lambert of Salina, Kansas; his friend, Karen Hatfield of Galesburg; and several step-children, step-grandchildren and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and a friend, Ann Boyer. Jerry graduated from Knoxville High School in 1951 He was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a salesman for various companies in Missouri for several years, retiring in 1998 and he moved back to Galesburg. He joined the Knoxville Christian Church on August 1, 2009. He was a member of the United Commercial Travelers, Galesburg American Legion Post #285, Senior Circle at Galesburg Cottage Hospital and served as a volunteer at the Cottage Hospital Professional Building for three years.

As he requested, cremation will be accorded and his ashes will be scattered at one of his favorite places. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Directors and Cremation Services Abingdon Chapel is assisting his family with his arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
