Albert L. Wagy Jr., 88, of St. Augustine, IL passed away Monday, December 14, 2020, 10:54 p.m., at the Monmouth Nursing Home, Monmouth, IL. He was born Tuesday, March 22, 1932, in Richfield, IL to Albert and Bernice (Deeder) Wagy.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Patsy Mitchell Wagy, of Galesburg, IL. Three daughters, Julie (Dan) Yuhas of Pueblo West, CO., Elizabeth Rhodes, Avon, Michelle (Mike) Howells of St. Louis, MO.; Five grandchildren, Jessi Martinez, Zachary Ott, Jordan Ott, Anna Rhodes, Sophie Rhodes and 1 great-granddaughter, Finley Ott.
Al graduated from Avon High School in 1951. He served in the United States Navy on an ammunition ship, the USS Firedrake. He was stationed in Japan and Guam.
Al owned and operated Club 41 in St. Augustine for 48 years. He attended Knox College and Western Illinois University. He was a member of the TKE fraternity. He enjoyed Little Swan Lake and was an avid water skier.
