Great Plains Orthopaedics is expanding its practice to the OSF Healthcare St. Mary Medical Center’s market. This will create greater access for patients seeking orthopedic care locally, says President of St. Mary Lisa DeKezel. She says OSF already has a relationship with Great Plains that will now grow and allow St. Mary to further their clinical excellence with the adoption of “new techniques that enhance patient care.” Currently, Great Plains Orthopaedics is based in Peoria but also has Kewanee and Pekin locations. They are also the official orthopedic team physicians for Bradley University Athletics, the Peoria Chiefs and several of the Peoria area high school sports programs. While their expertise in sports medicine is extensive they also have a long list of areas their staff specializes in; Elbow, Hand & Wrist, Foot & Ankle, Hip & Knee Joint Replacement, Orthopaedic Trauma, Broken Bones, Shoulder, Hip/Pelvis, and Knee.
