The City of Galesburg is seeking public input to help the Mayor and Council Members find the qualities desired in a new City Manager.
Former City Manager Todd Thompson departed from Galesburg for Rock Island recently and the process of recruiting a new City Manager has begun with Director of Public Works Wayne Carl filling the role in the interim.
Anyone who lives, works, shops, visits, matriculates, or does business in Galesburg is encouraged to complete this brief online survey, which will be available until 5:00 pm on June 3.
All responses will be anonymous and will be recorded, compiled, and shared with the Mayor and Council by an independent third party.
A release from the city says that the Mayor and Aldermen, “believe it is important to solicit the thoughts and ideas of community members regarding the traits, attributes, skills, and experience that the new City Manager should ideally possess.”
The information gleaned from the survey responses will be used to define the specific candidate qualities and skills that the City will pursue for this leadership position.
