Just before 6:30 in the morning on Tuesday, July 12th, responded to 77 South Henderson Street – Crossfit Wig Wag – for a disturbance. According to the complaint, dispatch received a report of a white male suspect possibly in his 70s standing naked in the rear entry of the business. When officers arrived, the male suspect was seated on a concrete stair wearing only a women’s sweater and attempting to put on a pair of women’s leggings. Police are familiar with 70-year-old William Perry III. Perry told police, “jokes on you, I’m ready to go to jail.” Perry had taken the female’s clothing out of a patron’s vehicle, but the victim didn’t wish to pursue further charges for stealing from a motor vehicle. Perry continually made odd statements to police and was transported to the Knox County Jail charged with Public Obscenity.

Galesburg Police later responded to the area of South Seminary Street and East Berrien Street for a report of a nude male sitting on the sidewalk near Lambasio Inc. Police arrived and made contact with 30-year-old Kelly Hawkinson of Galesburg, whom police have had previous encounters with. Hawkinson, according to police reports, was covered in dirt and was hallucinating – telling police there was a man with a gun on the roof of the building shooting at him. Hawkinson appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicating compound. Hawkinson ran up to responding officers and at one point ripped the rear windshield wiper off the patrol vehicle. He was transported to OSF St. Mary’s Medical Center for an evaluation. Hawkinson was charged with Criminal Damage to Property.
