Tuesday: Knox Rocks!
Rock out to Knox College’s pop and funk bands, as well as guitar ensembles for their end of the term concert. Free and open to the public, this concert features Daddy’s Barbecue, Buttered Noodles, Miss Izabella’s Lost Friends, S.M.I.L.F. and Two Many Guitars! The tunes turn on at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15 at Galesburg Community Arts Center, don’t miss a beat.
Thursday: 100x100x100x100
That’s 100 works of art, by 100 artists, in 100 square inches or less, for 100 dollars or less! View the exhibit of small art from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Cherry Street Gallery, located at 113 S. Cherry Street, Galesburg. Thursday: Don’t Stay ‘Home Alone’ for Hidden Hills Trivia
Think you know the most about Kevin and the Wet Bandits? If so, head to Hidden Hills in Knoxville for Home Alone Trivia at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, hosted by J&J Entertainment. Register online at Eventbrite for $30 a table, with up to eight players per table. Kids are allowed when accompanied and supervised by an adult. See if you get out unscathed! Friday: On the Owl Prowl at Nature at Night
Bring the kids and family to City of Galesburg Parks & Recreation’s Nature at Night: Owl Prowl programming from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Lakeside Nature Center Shelter. Owls are most active at dusk, making it a great time to learn how to spot the awesome bird. Though no guarantees, we hope to see one or two! Participants can warm up with hot chocolate after the walk. All attendees must register by Wednesday, Nov. 16, for $5 a person. Please dress for the weather.
Sunday: Soul Blues Legend Comes to Cedar Creek East
Soul blues legend, Johnny Rawls, whose music inspired the namesake of the genre, performs live at Cedar Creek East at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 20. With a career spanning more than 50 years, he’s done it all. Rawls is an internationally recognized recording artist, music producer, and songwriter nominated for many awards including Soul Blues Album of the Year and Soul Blues Male Artist of the Year.
