Galesburg bar sustains heavy smoke damage in morning fire

A Galesburg bar sustained extensive smoke damage from a fire Tuesday morning.

The Galesburg Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Harley’s Pub, 2243 Grand Ave, at 8:38 a.m. Tuesday. The response included all three stations and the 13 personnel on duty.

Upon arrival fire crews encountered heavy smoke coming from the structure. After a quick search no occupants were found within the structure. No injuries were reported.

An emergency callback of off duty fire personnel was initiated to provide emergency coverage to the city.

Preliminary damages are estimated at approximately $100,000. The fire was contained to the room where the fire began; however, the entire building sustained heavy smoke damage.

Galesburg Fire Department Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be unintentional.
